It seems to be the next obvious step these days for most actors. After a successful run as an actor, many of them also like to dip their fingers into the business by turning producers. Of course, generally, it's been the men who have done that so far. But that may soon change if the reports one hears about Katrina Kaif turning producer are true. The actress who has been successfully romancing the box office as an actress would now like to woo the audiences as a producer as well.

According to sources, Katrina, surely one of the most successful heroines of the day, is believed to be planning to produce a movie. The actress seems to be quite keen on turning a producer and starring in her own film. In fact, the actress is believed to have also narrowed down on a romantic subject and wants to rope in none other than Shah Rukh Khan, to play the leading man opposite her. The actress, who is known to be very close to Salman, is believed to have broken up with him and is believed to have been building bridges with SRK. She has taken part in stage shows organized by SRK. In fact, she participated in one last year, immediately after the famous SRK Salman fracas on her birthday. The actress has tried to create a distance between herself and Salman as she obviously did not want to jeopardize her career. Incidentally, despite the so called romance between them, the Katrina Sallu jodi has never really taken off in films, unlike the Akshay Kumar Katrina pair or even the recent Ranbir Katrina pair. Anyway, the actress, who is now on friendly terms with SRK, is very keen that he plays the romantic lead opposite her in her production. Like all his fans, even Katrina believes, that when it comes to romance, SRK is the best. She is also believed to have narrowed down on a subject, which is said to be a French film. She would also like to line up something with her favourite co star Akshay.

My Name is Khan - An epic love story

'My Name is Khan', which brings together Shahrukh Khan and Kajol after several years, will hit the screens on February 12, 2010. “'My Name is Khan, at its core, is an epic love story between two people who have a unique way of seeing the world, but what sets it apart is the landscape on which the story unfolds,” said film's director Karan Johar in a statement.

“I keep setting out to do something different with my films, but the one constant that remains is my desire to continue to explore the many ways in which two people can fall in love and stay in love regardless of any or every challenge against them,” Johar added.

Morpheus acquires Dulha Mil Gaya

Morpheus Media Ventures has announced that they have entered into an agreement to acquire the negative rights of the upcoming Fardeen Khan, Sushmita Sen and Shah Rukh Khan (in a special appearance) starrer ‘Dulha Mil Gaya’, for an undisclosed amount. Directed by Muddassar Aziz, ‘Dulha Mil Gaya’ (DMG) is a light-hearted romantic family film set against the backdrop of Punjab and the Caribbean.  The film is produced by Viveck Vaswani and Insight Productions.

Announcing the acquisition of the film, Rajat Jhunjhunwala, who recently took over the reins of Morpheus Media Ventures said, “We believe in the movie and Viveck Vaswani.  While much has been said about the film, the team at Morpheus used its own judgment to evaluate the potential of movie and went ahead with the deal. We will not only provide financial capital but also our network of distribution partners and marketing that will do justice to a film of this stature.” Morpheus Media Ventures currently has two Hindi and one Marathi film under production and is exploring other avenues in the entertainment space.

Shahrukh dumps Farah's husband

SRK offered the film to Reema as she seemed to understand what he wanted to do with the film. But he forgot to tell Shirish that he was giving the project to someone else to work on. Shirish found out by accident that the film no longer had his name on it. When Farah heard this, she was hurt and upset at the manner in which her hubby has been ousted. Adds the source, "Shirish had started work on the film and was looking for an actor who would play a cricketer. The film was supposed to go on the floors early next year."

Reema maintains, "I am writing the screenplay of the film, not directing it. Vishal Punjabi is directing Zoya Factor." Vishal was the visual effects producer for the SRK starrer Paheli which he had also produced. Meanwhile, Shirish says, "I was never supposed to direct Zoya Factor, only Joker." SRK remained unavailable for comment.

What is Zoya Factor?

It is about a girl called Zoya who was born exactly at the moment when India won the World Cup in 1983. Strangely, Zoya proves to be a girl of incredible luck for cricket matches. Whenever she watches a match, India ends up winning.

Hema’s shoot grabs Shah Rukh’s attention

Truly, Shah Rukh Khan got attracted to the spot, where Hema Malini was shooting for her production’s ‘Tell Me O Khuda’.

Uun dino when Shah Rukh was taking baby steps in the industry, Hema Malini had offered him the lead for her debut directorial ‘Dil Aashna Hai’. So when Shah Rukh heard that Hema Malini is shooting next to his house, the actor immediately went to meet her.

According to sources, the unit of ‘Tell Me O Khuda’ was shooting at KK Manzil, next to SRK’s house with Esha Deol, Arjan Bajwa and Chandan Roy Sanyal. “The entire set was abuzz as they saw SRK. He headed straight for Hemaji who was present with the director Mayur Puri, and greeted her. Hemaji was pleasantly surprised and SRK met everyone with a lot of affection. SRK stayed on the sets for close to 45 minutes and fondly recalled the experience of shooting for Dil Aashna Hai and the early years of his career,” said the sources.

Even Hemaji was very pleased to see SRK. “I was shooting next to his house and it was very sweet of him to drop in to wish me. He has always shown respect for me and it was very nice of him,” said the graceful actress.

Shah Rukh also wished Esha luck for her comeback vehicle, added the sources.
